LATEST VCSO DRUG WARRANT ROUND-UP HITS EAST VOLUSIA
An arrest warrant round-up focused on street-level drug dealers put several suspects behind bars in recent days as Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives fanned out across East Volusia. Similar efforts are continuing all across Volusia County.
The arrests in “Operation Clean Slate” started Thursday and stemmed from numerous investigations that have been underway since early 2017, targeting the sale of cocaine, pills and other narcotics on the county’s east side.
The defendants in the Clean Slate roundup included a Daytona Beach-area convenience store owner whose store sold synthetic marijuana, as well as a 25-year-old man who fled from his apartment, leaving behind Hydrocodone pills, Psilocin mushrooms, vacuum sealer bags and a sealer machine, hashish, marijuana, four guns and ammunition. He was wanted on charges of selling hashish from another apartment less than 400 feet from a Montessori preschool and kindergarten facility.
