BONES DISCOVERED BY FERNERY WORKER IN DELEON SPRINGS AREA

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after bones were discovered in the DeLeon Springs area.

Sheriff’s deputies responded around 10:47 a.m. Wednesday to a fernery off the 4500 block of Daugharty Road after a worker reported discovering some bones on the property. The bones appeared to be human remains, but confirmation and identification will depend on a closer examination by the medical examiner.

Sheriff's detectives are investigating, and no further information is available at this time. Updates will be released as they become available.
