SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES SEARCHING FOR MISSING DELAND MAN, 79, WHO LEFT ON WALK WITH DOG

Volusia County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a 79-year-old DeLand man who went missing on a walk with his dog this evening and has not been located after several hours of searching.

Johnny Debose, who has been exhibiting symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, was reported missing around 4:56 p.m. at an address on the 1500 block of Adelle Avenue, DeLand, about an hour and a half after he left on foot. He reportedly claimed he was going to walk home to Georgia. He took his black Labrador mix, Queen, with him.

Deputies along with bloodhounds and Air One have been searching for Debose this evening with no luck so far. Anyone who sees him or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 911.
