UPDATE: SUSPECT ARRESTED After Man, 38, Shot, Critically Injured At Home

UPDATE 10/10: Suspect arrested

A suspect in a Sept. 29 shooting in Deltona is in custody in the Volusia County Branch Jail facing charges of attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Charles F. Allen, 41 (DOB 11/3/1976), of Altamonte Springs, was identified by Volusia County sheriff’s detectives as the shooter who fired at Jason Randolph during an argument over stolen property at 1110 Mayflower Ave.

Allen was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Service with the assistance of the Volusia County Crime Center and Seminole County fugitive apprehension team. He was transferred from the Seminole County Jail to the Volusia County Branch Jail on Tuesday and remains in custody there without bond.

UPDATE 9/30: Victim identified

The victim of a shooting in Deltona on Saturday night has been identified as Jason Randolph (DOB 02/06/1980).

He remains in critical but stable condition. No further updates are expected today.

VCSO INVESTIGATING AFTER DELTONA MAN, 38, SHOT AT HOME

Volusia County sheriff’s detectives are investigating after a man was shot and critically injured Saturday night at his home in the 1100 block of Mayflower Avenue in Deltona.

The shooting occurred just after 6 p.m. Saturday. The 38-year-old victim told deputies he was shot while he was in the garage area. He was airlifted by sheriff’s helicopter with a gunshot wound to his head to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford.

No arrests have been made. The incident is an active criminal investigation and is not considered random.
