MOTORCYCLIST KILLED IN DEBARY CRASH

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening in a crash at the Interstate 4 ramp in DeBary.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Dirksen Drive at I-4, where a motorcycle headed westbound on Dirksen hit an eastbound Kia sedan that was turning left onto the I-4 ramp. The traffic signal for east- and westbound traffic was green at the time, with a flashing yellow signal for traffic turning onto I-4.

The motorcycle was driven by 25-year-old Dylan J. Bryan of Apopka. Bryan was pronounced deceased by paramedics at the scene.

A second motorcyclist, 26-year-old Cody Beasley of Merritt Island, was able to avoid impact with the Kia and sustained minor injuries.

The Kia driver, 80-year-old Cecilio Cruz Rivera of Orlando, was not injured. He did not display any signs of impairment.

Neither motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Traffic is shut down in the area of the crash (including both I-4 ramps) as Volusia County sheriff's deputies investigate.
