MOTORCYCLIST KILLED IN DELTONA CRASH

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash that appears to have happened overnight in Deltona and was discovered early this morning.

The crash was reported around 6 a.m. in the area of the 900 block of Deltona Boulevard, where the road curves to the left. The motorcycle, a green Yamaha sport bike, failed to negotiate the curve and ran off the right side of the road, into a row of small trees and a power pole.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene, and it appeared he had been there for several hours. Information gathered during the initial crash investigation suggests the crash may have occurred sometime around midnight or shortly thereafter.

The identity of the deceased, an adult male, is not being released at this time pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.

Update: Next of kin has been notified; the deceased is Long Chau Nguyen, 33 (DOB 4/27/1985), of Sanford.
