Pedestrian Killed In Deltona Crash

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening in Deltona and did not survive.

The crash occurred around 7:10 p.m. on the 1400 block of Deltona Boulevard.

The deceased has been identified as an 80-year-old Deltona woman. Her next of kin has been notified.

Approximately 10 minutes after the crash occurred, VSO received a call reporting the deceased as a missing person with Alzheimer's disease.

The initial investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling at the speed limit northbound on Deltona Boulevard when it struck the pedestrian in the middle of the inside lane of travel.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene by Deltona Fire Rescue at 7:37 p.m.

The crash investigation remains active.
