DeLand man dies in house fire; 2 others injured

A house fire took the life of a man early Friday morning in DeLand. 

Volusia County firefighters and deputies responded to the fire at 1960 Central Parkway around 3:17 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with an adult female who advised two adults, a man and woman, remained inside the house. 

Firefighters entered the home and rescued the two victims along with a family dog. All three victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Sadly, the adult male died of his injuries. A second dog rescued from the home did not survive. 

The State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to conduct the fire investigation. The Sheriff’s Office sends condolences to loved ones of the deceased.
