Video: Deputies rescue woman from burning home

Overnight, Deputy Austin Graham responded to a house on fire on Palmetto Drive, DeLand. When he forced his way inside, he found a woman unresponsive on the hallway floor.

Deputy Graham pulled the victim to safety with the help of Deputy Vargas, who started rescue breathing. The victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Great news: At last update, she was stable and expected to make a full recovery! The cause of the fire appears to be accidental, starting in the kitchen.

Deputy Graham was also evaluated on scene for the smoke inhalation he experienced during the rescue, but avoided a trip to the hospital.
