Inmate Found Dead of Apparent Suicide Early Today at Volusia County Branch Jail

VOLUSIA COUNTY BRANCH JAIL INMATE FOUND DEAD EARLY TODAY OF APPARENT SUICIDE

Volusia County sheriff’s detectives responded to the Volusia County Branch Jail early today after an inmate was discovered hanging in his jail cell.

The inmate, identified as Douglas F. Robinson, no permanent address, was found by his cellmate, who returned from work duties about 2 a.m., hanging by a bed sheet. Multiple officers performed CPR on the inmate until EVAC arrived and transported him to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where he was pronounced deceased at 3:04 a.m.

Robinson was 23; DOB: 10/06/94.
