DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING HOME INVASION ROBBERY, SHOOTING

Volusia County sheriff's detectives are investigating a Friday night home invasion robbery at a Daytona Beach-area home, where one victim was shot in the abdomen and taken to a local hospital.

Deputies responded to the robbery just after 9:30 p.m. at 1539 Granada Ave., Daytona Beach. Two victims in the home told deputies two unknown male suspects came into the house wearing masks and demanding money.

One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and shot one of the victims in the lower abdomen. He was alert and conscious and transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach for treatment of his injuries.

Detectives are continuing to pursue any leads in the case, and the information gathered so far indicates the robbery was probably not a random crime. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 386-248-1777 or Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS or via the app available at westopcrime.com. Crime Stoppers tips remain anonymous and may be worth a reward of up to $5,000.
