UPDATE: Public's Help STILL Needed to Find Driver in Deltona Hit-Run Crash

Although several tips have been submitted regarding the hit-and-run crash that injured a Deltona teenager last week, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) is still seeking information to help us find the driver who struck the victim as she was walking home from school.

The crash occurred when the 15-year-old Pine Ridge High School student tried to cross Fort Smith Boulevard near the intersection of Rookery Avenue at 3:10 p.m.  The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries to her left knee, and lacerations to her hands and face.

After hitting the student, the driver did not stop. The suspect car is described as a light-colored early 80s two-door Chevy Monte Carlo or Oldsmobile Cutlass with a dark top. (Please see attached photo and video).

Anyone with information about this driver or hit-and-run crash is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at (386) 248-1777. A $10,000 reward is possible for information leading to an arrest and conviction of this driver regarding case #18-2540. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers, 888-277-TIPS, westopcrime.com, for a possible cash reward up to $5,000.
