PEDESTRIAN KILLED IN DEBARY CRASH; TRAFFIC CURRENTLY SHUT DOWN

A vehicle-vs.-pedestrian crash claimed the life of a 50-year-old woman crossing Charles R. Beall Blvd. in DeBary this afternoon.

The crash was reported around 3:06 p.m. near the Walmart Neighborhood Market. The victim’s identity is not being released at this time pending notification of her next of kin.

The initial indications from the crash investigation are that the pedestrian was walking west to east across Charles R. Beall when she was hit by a Chevrolet Cobalt in the northbound lanes.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The initial findings on scene suggest neither speed nor impairment was a factor on the part of the driver.

The northbound lanes of Charles R. Beall Blvd. are closed at North Pine Meadow Drive in the area of the crash.
