1 KILLED WHEN JEEP HITS DISABLED CAR IN OAK HILL

An Oak Hill woman was killed and another driver injured Friday night in a crash on U.S. 1 in Oak Hill.

The crash happened around 8:47 p.m. in the area of 390 N. U.S. 1, where two people were pushing a disabled vehicle out of the road when another vehicle collided with it.

The driver at the wheel of the disabled car, 38-year-old Jennifer Lynn Foster (DOB 8/19/1980) of Oak Hill, was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the oncoming vehicle, a Jeep, was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center with injuries considered non-life-threatening. He is 23-year-old William D. Seegar (DOB 8/21/1995), also of Oak Hill.

The two people who were pushing the disabled car did not require medical transport.

Traffic on U.S. 1 was shut down in the area of the crash.

While a crash investigation is ongoing, the evidence at this point does not suggest that excessive speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
