VCSO Participating In 'Operation Clear Track' With Focus On Railroad Crossing Safety

VCSO PARTICIPATING IN ‘OPERATION CLEAR TRACK’ WITH FOCUS ON RAILROAD CROSSING SAFETY
On Tuesday (tomorrow, Sept. 25), the Volusia County Sheriff's Office is joining Amtrak during "Operation Clear Track,” a national railroad crossing safety initiative during this Rail Safety Week.
"Operation Clear Track" is the largest single-day railroad safety law enforcement initiative in the U.S. VCSO deputies will be assigned to or conducting extra patrols at railroad crossing locations including:
- Maytown Road railroad crossing, Oak Hill
- 2491 Old New York Ave. (Amtrak station), DeLand
- S.R. 40 and N. U.S. 17, Barberville
- Washington Avenue and Center Street, Pierson
- Lake George Road and N. U.S. 17, Seville
During this safety initiative, deputies will be issuing verbal or written warnings or citations for violators.
