DON’T MISS VCSO’S NATIONAL NIGHT OUT EVENTS ON TUESDAY, OCT. 2

National Night Out is an annual chance to bring neighborhoods together with the men and women who protect them to make our neighborhoods better, safer places to live. This event is a family-friendly, free event that features safety demonstrations, crime-prevention information, exhibits, food, kids’ activities, visits from first responders and their vehicles, and much more.

Our events in Volusia County are this Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the following places and times:

District 2 (Northwest Volusia)
Pierson Community Center
124 E. Washington Ave., Pierson
5:30 - 8:30 p.m. 
Features visits with first responders and their vehicles, food, kids’ activities, crime prevention literature, K-9 demonstration, entertainment.

District 3 (East Volusia)
Halifax Plantation (The Estates on Acoma Drive) 
3017 Silvermines Ave, Ormond Beach
5 - 7:30 p.m. 
Features a Neighborhood Bike Ride at 5:15 p.m.; kids’ bounce house, hot dogs and sodas; K-9 demo; sheriff’s helicopter, boat and motorcycle on display; music, games, prizes.

District 4 (Deltona area)
Deltona City Hall
2345 Providence Blvd., Deltona
5:30-8:30 p.m. 
Come to a giant block party with sheriff’s deputies! Also featuring fingerprinting for kids, VCSO Dive Team, SWAT, Motors and K-9 demonstrations.

District 6 (DeBary/Orange City area)
Volusia County Sheriff‘s Office D6 headquarters
79 S. U.S. 17-92, DeBary
5:30 – 8 p.m.
Features: Kids’ activities, demonstrations, interactions with police and firefighters, entertainment, food and more.

This event began in 1984 as a nationwide tool for crime prevention. Besides taking part in local events, we can build safer neighborhoods by knowing your neighbors. Everyone is encouraged to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors and spend time outside talking with neighbors, police officers and firefighters during National Night Out 2018.
