DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING REPORT OF 4 PUPPIES STOLEN FROM ORANGE CITY-AREA YARD

Update: The puppies have been located in good condition (see attached photo). The person who had them is not in custody at this time and is cooperating with detectives. The investigation is continuing and no further information is available at this time, but when we have updates to report we’ll let you know.

Volusia County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a report of four puppies stolen from an Orange City-area home, with security cameras capturing video of a possible suspect.

Deputies responded to the home on the 200 block of East Gardenia Drive around 8:30 p.m. Monday, where the owner reported four blue-nose pit bull puppies were stolen from his back yard. A neighbor’s security camera recorded video of a white female with dark hair running through the front yard at 5:41 p.m. that evening, while the owner was away. The camera also recorded a suspect vehicle, which appeared to be an older-model, black, 2-door Honda Civic.

Another witness described the suspect as a white female with red hair in a pony tail, and wearing a bathing suit.

Photos of the puppies are attached. Video may be available in a future update. Detectives are actively pursuing potential leads, but anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the VCSO’s District 6 detectives unit at 386-668-3830.
