DEBARY WOMAN, 43, KILLED IN TRAFFIC CRASH

A 43-year-old DeBary woman was killed Wednesday evening when she turned into the path of a truck while attempting to turn left from West Highbanks Road onto South Shell Road in DeBary.

The driver, identified as Catherine Clark, turned her Lexus into the path of a Ford F350. The driver of the truck turned to the left to avoid the crash, but his front right wheel and bumper area impacted the Lexus.

Clark was the lone occupant in her vehicle. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Clark was not wearing a seatbelt.

The second driver, Lawrence Morgan, 53, also of DeBary, was not injured. The roadway was closed to traffic from 5:30-10:15 p.m. while the Volusia County Sheriff's Office conducted its traffic homicide investigation. Impairment was not considered to be a factor in the accident.
