UPDATE #1: Names Released in DeLand Death Investigation

Two people found deceased Saturday in a home at 303 Woodmont Road, DeLand, have been identified as Dana Chitwood and Kevin Reddy, both 54.

Their families have been notified of their deaths.

Volusia County sheriff’s detectives are continuing to investigate. They do not suspect foul play in the deaths but the cause remains unknown.

Autopsies were conducted Sunday and those results are pending. Toxicology tests are being conducted and those results may take several weeks.

VCSO DEATH INVESTIGATION UNDER WAY AT DELAND HOME

Volusia County sheriff’s detectives are conducting a death investigation at a home at 303 Woodmont Road in DeLand.

Sheriff’s detectives were alerted around 3 p.m. Saturday after a well-being check was requested at the home. Detectives located two people deceased in the home.

A methamphetamine manufacturing operation was found at the scene.

Two generators were also discovered at the home turned on but had run out of gasoline, posing a possible carbon monoxide issue.

No obvious signs of trauma were found on the victims. More information will be provided when it becomes available.
