VCSO Seeks Other Possible Victims

A 34-year-old Osteen man has been charged with inappropriately touching a child under 16 – someone known to him – and Volusia County sheriff’s detectives believe there may be additional victims.

Jeffrey Cobb, (DOB 6-30-1985) was arrested at his workplace early Tuesday. He is charged with lewd and lascivious battery by engaging in a sex act with someone under 16. He remains held at the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bail allowed.

The VCSO was alerted Monday after the victim told her mother over the weekend that Cobb has been touching her inappropriately since November 2018. The latest incident occurred two weeks ago. Cobb is known to the victim’s family.

Cobb was arrested overnight by sheriff’s detectives at the DeBary Golf and Country Club where he works as a nighttime security guard.

Detectives have learned of at least two other cases in which young females disclosed of similar incidents involving Cobb and are currently investigating those incidents.

More charges are possible as detectives search for additional potential victims who know this suspect. Anyone who may have been a victim of Cobb or any similar case is urged to call the Child Exploitation Unit at (386) 323-3574.
