Paul Thompson, wanted in a machete attack last week in Oak Hill, was arrested overnight in Edgewater after a citizen spotted him and called in a tip. 
 
Thompson was at his girlfriend Juanita Long’s house on Douglass Street. Long was also arrested on a charge of resisting a law enforcement officer without violence, as she had been contacted by deputies on several prior occasions, denied knowing Thompson’s whereabouts and made no apparent attempts to report his location.

VSO SEEKS ARMED, DANGEROUS OAK HILL TRANSIENT
Male, 41, is Wanted in Machete Attack

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office is seeking a 41-year-old man who is wanted for aggravated battery using a machete in an incident that occurred this week in Oak Hill.

Paul E. Thompson (DOB 2/1/1978), is a transient who is known to frequent Oak Hill riding a bicycle. He was last seen shirtless, wearing dark shorts and now has a shaved head. He is a white male, 5’8”-5’10” tall and has a history of violence. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Thompson is wanted for striking a male victim in the neck with a machete, seriously injuring the victim.
