DEPUTIES SEEK SUSPECT IN SATURDAY SHOOTING AT DELAND-AREA BAR
Judge Signs Felony Warrant for 24-Yr.-Old DeLand Man

Sheriff’s deputies have identified and are actively seeking a 24-year-old suspect in a shooting early Saturday that injured one person at Label Bar & Lounge in DeLand.

Wilbert Brown (DOB 7/31/1995) of 125 S. Salisbury Ave., DeLand, is wanted on aggravated battery with a firearm, two counts of aggravated battery, three counts of aggravated assault, aggravated child abuse, shooting into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Sunday, a judge signed a felony arrest warrant for Brown.

Anyone with information about Brown is urged to call 911 or contact Volusia sheriff’s detective Ellis at (386) 299-4395.

Brown is considered armed and dangerous.

ONE SHOT IN LEG DURING ALTERCATION OVERNIGHT AT DELAND-AREA BAR

The Volusia Sheriff's Office is investigating an altercation at a DeLand-area bar that left one person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her leg.

A crowd involved in a large fight reported at Label Bar & Lounge, 901 S. Adele Ave., had dispersed by the time deputies and DeLand police arrived shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday. 

Upon checking area hospitals, four young women between the ages of 17 and 19 were found to have sustained injuries in the altercation. None of their injuries were life-threatening. The victim who had a gunshot wound to her calf was up and able to walk around.

The Sheriff's Office investigation is active and continuing and no additional information or records are available at this time.
