DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING ARMED HOME INVASION IN DELTONA; NOT BELIEVED TO BE RANDOM

Volusia Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a home invasion robbery reported early this morning in Deltona.

Deputies responded to the call around 5:20 a.m. at 1482 Daroca Drive, where the victims (a 24-year-old man and 22-year-old woman) reported they woke up to find 5 or 6 male suspects in their house. The victims said at least 3 of the suspects were armed with rifles. No shots were fired, but the victims said they were beaten as the suspects demanded money. The victims refused medical treatment on scene.

The investigation is active and no additional details are available at this time. However, the investigation so far indicates the robbery was not a random act.
