KICKS 4 GUNS: TURN IN UNWANTED FIREARMS FOR A $50 GIFT CARD IN EXCHANGE
Volusia Sheriff’s Office Hosts Annual Event – No ID Required, and No Questions Asked

If you’ve got an unwanted gun and aren’t sure how to safely get rid of it, here’s your chance: The Volusia Sheriff’s Office is rounding up unwanted firearms Thursday (Oct. 24) in Deltona in exchange for a $50 Walmart gift card.

Central Florida’s Kicks 4 Guns is a crime-fighting program that aims to get unwanted, real weapons off the streets. You can help keep our community safer by getting rid of unwanted guns and preventing accidents or crimes. No questions will be asked and you don’t have to show identification.

The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at The Center at Deltona, 1640 Dr. MLK Blvd. and is only open to people turning in weapons.

Anyone driving or walking to the event should place unloaded guns in a sealed bag or box marked Kicks 4 Guns. A deputy will safely remove the firearm from your vehicle for you.

For residents living in Volusia County, you can request a law enforcement officer to come to your home and pick up your gun. Call 386-943-8276 to make arrangements.

“This is a perfect opportunity for anyone with unwanted guns. Total amnesty,” Sheriff Mike Chitwood said. “Parents and grandparents: Check your child’s room and see if they have a gun they shouldn’t have in their possession. If you turn in a gun, you could be saving their life or someone else’s.”
