Suspicious Incident Prompts Lockdown At Spruce Creek High School

The lockdown at Spruce Creek High School has been lifted.  Based on statements made by an student, a Sheriff’s Office Bomb K-9 was dispatched to the school and subsequently cleared the suspicious item out of an abundance of caution. The incident remains under investigation. More details will be released when they are received.  

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT PROMPTS LOCKDOWN AT SPRUCE CREEK HIGH SCHOOL

The School Resource Deputy at Spruce Creek High school was alerted to a suspicious item discarded in a trashcan Thursday afternoon, which prompted a lockdown of the campus while deputies determined what the item is.  The item was described as having wires coming from it and previously being concealed by a student.  Deputies are awaiting the arrival of a EOD K-9 and the school remains under a lock down. Updates will be released as they are received.
