2 GUNS, SKI MASKS, BULLET HOLES DISCOVERED IN DELTONA TRAFFIC STOP

An early-morning traffic stop in Deltona early Monday resulted in two arrests and an ongoing investigation after responding deputies discovered 2 guns, several ski masks and numerous bullet holes in the vehicle.

Around 3:30 a.m. Monday in Deltona, a Volusia Sheriff’s Office deputy was on patrol when he saw a vehicle run a red light. There were two 18-year-olds, a 19-year-old and a 12-year-old in the car, all Orlando residents.

During the traffic stop, the 18-year-old passenger provided a false name and was asked to step out of the car.

When Deputy Jacob Bissonnette patted him down for weapons, he discovered a Glock 21 .45 caliber shoved down his pant leg. The gun was loaded with 11 rounds and one round in the chamber.

During a search of the vehicle, several black ski masks and an additional handgun were located. That gun was reported stolen out of Osceola County.

The car itself was discovered to have several bullet holes in it.

An investigation continues into what connections the vehicle and occupants may have to any other cases.

The front-seat passenger, Trey Anderson (DOB 8/16/2001), was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and providing false identification to law enforcement. He was also arrested on an active Seminole County warrant for violation of probation on two counts of vehicle burglary and two counts of grand theft.

The driver, Leverett Smith (DOB 2/27/2001), was charged with grand theft firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Anderson remains in custody without bond in the Volusia County Branch Jail. Smith was booked and later released after posting $3,500 bond.
