DELTONA MAN, 64, DIES AFTER VEHICLE FALLS ON HIM
Victim Was Repairing Neighbor’s Car

A 64-year-old Deltona man died Saturday after a vehicle he was working on in a driveway apparently fell on him, killing him.

The victim had been working to repair a neighbor’s silver Hyundai passenger vehicle at her home in the 1500 block of Zinnia Drive in Deltona. Detectives’ preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle slipped off two jacks that had been used to lift the vehicle.

The car’s owner and her sister, both residents of the home, told deputies they left home just before noon Saturday. When they returned home around 2:35 p.m., they found the victim trapped under the vehicle and called 911 for help.

Sheriff’s deputies and Deltona Fire Rescue responded to the scene. The victim was pronounced deceased at 2:40 p.m. The victim is not being identified at this time because his family has not been notified.

This investigation is continuing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
