**UPDATE: WEEKEND SHOOTING SUSPECT APPREHENDED

Orion Gass, 21, has been safely arrested in connection with a weekend shooting in Daytona Beach that left a male victim injured. The victim remains in stable condition and is recovering.

DETECTIVES SEEK DAYTONA SUSPECT, 21, IN ROOMMATE’S SHOOTING

A 21-year-old Daytona Beach man is wanted for aggravated battery with a firearm after he shot  his roommate in the lower back early Saturday with a shotgun following an argument.

Volusia sheriff’s detectives need the public’s help to locate Orion Gass (DOB 8/7/1998). Gass and the 25-year-old male roommate engaged in a verbal altercation just after 3 a.m. at their residence in the 1600 block of Granada Avenue. Gass reportedly then shot the roommate and fled on foot before deputies arrived.

Deputies were called to the scene for a report of a person shot and found the victim inside lying facedown with gunshot wounds to his lower back and buttocks. He was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach where he underwent surgery. His injuries were described as not life-threatening and he remains in stable condition.

Gass is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about him or ihs whereabouts is urged to call 911 regarding Case #20-5269. Ask for the Eastside Detectives Unit.
