Suspect turns himself in following Deltona shooting

UPDATE: Calderon has turned himself in.

VSO detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Thomas A. Calderon (DOB: 10/17/1987) for attempted second-degree murder with a firearm. Calderon, 37, is wanted in connection with the shooting early this morning at 1500 Flagami Terr, Deltona.

Deputies were notified the 29-year-old victim was brought by his girlfriend to an Orange City hospital around 3:11 a.m. with a gunshot wound.  


The investigation revealed Calderon and the victim got into a verbal argument over how the victim was treating his girlfriend. During the argument, Calderon shot the victim in the abdominal area.  

Deputies responded to the residence on Flagami Terr, which is where Calderon resides, and executed a search warrant. 

Calderon’s current whereabouts are unknown. He has connections to the Sanford/Seminole County area. 

Anyone with information is asked to call 911. Calderon should be considered armed and dangerous and shouldn’t be approached. 

The victim is in critical but stable condition at a Sanford hospital.
