A 75-year-old woman lost her life in a single-vehicle crash on Christmas Day in Deltona.
Deputies responded to the crash around 1:25 p.m. Thursday at East Graves Avenue and North Normandy Boulevard. Witnesses reported a beige Kia Sorrento SUV was heading eastbound on Graves when it began swerving, side-swiped a guardrail, then travelled across the roadway into oncoming traffic and struck another guardrail head-on. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
A witness performed CPR until first responders arrived. The driver, identified as Linda Hebb, 75, of Deltona, was transported by Volusia County EMS to Halifax Hospital Deltona, where she was pronounced deceased.
The preliminary investigation indicates Ms. Hebb may have experienced a medical issue that caused or contributed to the crash. The Sheriff's Office sends condolences to friends and family members for their loss.
