Man shot during domestic disturbance in Deltona

Date Added: October 13, 2025 4:17 pm

Detectives are investigating a domestic disturbance in which a man was shot Saturday evening in Deltona.

Around 5:22 p.m., deputies responded to a home in the 1200 block of Polk Avenue. Both parties had left the residence prior to law enforcement arrival.

The investigation determined two residents of the home – husband and wife – had been involved in a physical altercation within the home. The husband, Jermaine Jackson (DOB: 01/25/1984), later showed up at a hospital in Daytona Beach with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his arm. Jackson was medically cleared and was uncooperative with deputies, claiming he was shot by an unknown person in Daytona Beach.

The second party was later located in Deltona. She told detectives Jackson attacked her then walked outside of the residence. Fearing for her safety, she said she fired a shot at Jackson as he returned and attempted to force entry through the locked door.

Jackson was charged with simple battery (domestic violence), violation of probation and giving false information during a felony investigation. Jackson is being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail on no bond.

The case remains active at this time and more details will be provided when they are available.
