Motorcyclist Killed In DeBary Crash

A motorcyclist was killed in a Thursday evening crash in DeBary when an SUV made a left turn in front of the motorcycle.

The initial crash investigation indicates the motorcycle was southbound on Charles R. Beall Boulevard approaching DeBary Plantation Boulevard shortly before 8:30 p.m. when a northbound SUV initiated a left turn onto DeBary Plantation in front of the motorcycle. The result was a head-on collision.

The motorcyclist, a 54-year-old DeBary man, was pronounced deceased on scene. His passenger on the motorcycle was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The SUV driver, a 76-year-old DeBary man, was not injured and did not show any signs of impairment. The crash investigation is continuing. The roadway reopened to traffic overnight.
