Pedestrian hit and killed by vehicle in DeBary

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Friday on S. Charles R. Beall Boulevard in DeBary and did not survive.

The initial investigation reveals the 51-year-old DeBary man was standing in the middle of the southbound inside lanes when he was struck by a vehicle around 12:44 a.m. 

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was not injured. The Volusia Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit responded to the scene to investigate.
