Date Added: September 10, 2025 11:09 am

Tuesday night, VSO deputies assisted Daytona Beach Shores Public Safety after officers located a stolen vehicle that ultimately fled from them, heading westbound on Dunlawton Avenue and then northbound on I-95.

A deputy successfully deployed stop sticks on I-95, deflating two tires of the Black Chevy Tahoe. The driver continued on I-95, eventually getting off an exit and driving into a parking lot of a shopping center.

Deputies and officers blocked off the area as the suspect began driving erratically in circles. The suspect struck two VSO patrol cars and a NSBPD unit.

Multiple deputies coordinated a successful vehicle containment technique. The driver tried to escape by spinning the tires for an extended amount of time but eventually gave up and was taken into custody.

Brian Blucher (DOB: 02/16/1978), of Key West, is charged with 3 counts of aggravated battery LEO (VSO), Flee & Elude, Grand Theft Auto and DWLS Habitual Traffic Offender (DBSPS) and Aggravated Battery LEO (NSBPD).

No deputies, K-9s or other agency law enforcement officers were injured.
