V1 advised at approximately 1029 hours on today's date, he noticed his two jet-skis and a trailer had been stolen.

During a neighborhood canvas, deputies learned a neighbor observed a male attach the trailer containing the jet-skis to a vehicle on 9/11/24. An intel bulletin was completed.

On 9/14, R1 discovered the propane tank cage open, lock cut and approximately 8-15-pound  propane tanks stolen. R1 last saw the propane tank cage intact and secured on 9/13. The propane tanks were worth a total of $450.

D1 entered the smoke shop to purchase some cigarettes. While R1 was cashing him out, D1 walked behind the counter and stood within arm's reach of the register while it was open.

R1, fearing D1 was going to take the money or other merchandise, quickly closed the register and ordered him to move away. A short time later, while the register was open, D1 again attempted to walk behind the counter near the register but was blocked by W1, who told him to leave.

Upon deputies' arrival, D1 was secured and post-Miranda, remained silent, refusing to answer any questions. D1 was arrested for attempted burglary and loitering & prowling.

While he was being placed in the patrol car, D1 began to resist by kicking Deputy Darcy and Deputy Aberle. D1 also bit DeLand PD Corporal Harris. D1 was subdued without injury but transported to a hospital for medical clearance.

While receiving medical treatment, D1 again began resisting when deputies were moving his handcuffs. D1 was additionally charged with resisting w/o violence x2, resisting with violence and battery on LEO x2.

DeLand PD is also charging D1 with Battery LEO (DL240005083). D1 was also found to be on probation and charged accordingly.

S1 came to Cook St. looking for the resident of apt C, V1. S1 told the neighbors he wanted to harm him. S1 walked toward the IHOP and returned a short time later.

S1 then threw an object through the front window of V1's residence. S1 then traveled north to his vehicle parked on South Street.

As S1 was arriving at his vehicle, V2 exited his residence on South Street. V2 states S1 pointed a firearm at him and told him to walk away, to which V2 complied.

S1 drove away. Due to the two locations, the incident at Cook St will be reported under 24-20515 and the incident at South St will be under 24-20516.

V1 awoke and observed her 2011 gold Toyota Avalon missing from her driveway. V1 also noticed her son, D1, missing along with her car keys, which were last seen inside the residence.

V1 last saw D1 and her vehicle early 09/15/2024. D1 never had permission to take the vehicle and was recently released from prison. The vehicle was entered into FCIC/NCIC as stolen.

Officers with the DeLand Police Department later located the vehicle, where D1 was taken into custody without incident. D1 admitted to taking the vehicle without permission.

V-1 and S-1 are long-time girlfriend and boyfriend, who reside together. V-1 is currently pregnant with S-1's child, of which he is aware.

V-1 and S-1 got into an argument inside their motel room that turned physical when S-1 snatched V-1's phone from her hand and then slapped her several times. The two left their motel room and began walking, where the argument continued.

Both V-1 and S-1 walked behind a local business, where S-1 smashed V-1's phone on the ground. V-1 then began screaming for help when a local resident dialed 911.

Deputies established probable cause and were unable to locate S-1 in the area. A pass-along affidavit was completed and forwarded to the oncoming shift.

V-1 and D-1 are girlfriend and boyfriend, who got into a verbal argument when D-1 woke up V-1's baby. The argument escalated when D-1 snatched V-1's phone out of her hand as she was calling law enforcement and pushed her down on the bed.

D-1 fled the residence and was later located hiding in a wooded lot in the immediate area. Deputies established probable cause and placed him under arrest.

V-1's guardian was on scene and alerted to the above. Director Quann was notified of the incident. ***CBA***

The Crime Suppression Team organized an operation targeting criminal activity in and around the Deland Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market.

The operation yielded nine arrests, along with the seizure of marijuana, fentanyl and hydrocodone pills.  Six additional subjects were field interviewed and issued trespass warnings at the request of store management.

V1 went over to 188 Evergreen Terrace to confront the residents about being accused of a theft. During the encounter an argument started over V1 refusing to leave the property. V1 was struck in the leg with a wooden bat by S1. S1 left the residence to an unknown location. V1 was transported to the hospital to be treated. V1's leg was not broken, and he wished to pursue criminal charges. S1 could not be located and a pass on affidavit was completed.
