Deputies responded to the above location to investigate a shoplifting. W1 advised at approximately 1408 hours, two unknown male suspects walked out of the store without paying for their merchandise.

The merchandise total was $1,419.91 worth of tool kits and battery chargers. W1 provided a written statement on behalf of the business and advised they wish to pursue criminal charges.

V1 is D1's mother. While D1 was sleeping, V1 observed what was later discovered to be marijuana and paraphernalia in his waistband. V1 awakened D1 and confronted him about it.

D1 became upset and began shoving V1. This was witnessed by W1. D1 is currently on probation for battering W1. D1 was placed under arrest.

V1 did not sustain any injury and did not wish to pursue charges. Director Quann was notified of the incident and confirmed D1's probation status. D1 was transported to Halifax, Deltona, for medical clearance. D1 was then transported to the Volusia Family Resource Center for processing.

RP advised S1 resigned from V1 and returned the company vehicle on 9/11/24. The RP advised on 9/12/24, an inventory of the vehicle was conducted.

Approximately $3,000 worth of tools and materials were discovered missing. The RP advised they attempted to contact S1 multiple times with no return contact.

Deputies also attempted to make contact with S1, yielding negative results. A pawn/scrap history check for S1 also yielded negative results. Case status: Active

V1 stated on 09/12/2024, she and S1 were in an argument. V1 stated S1 choked her, causing her to lose consciousness. V1 advised when she regained consciousness S1 told her he would kill her.

V1 also advised approximately two weeks ago, S1 grabbed her by the neck and bit her on her neck. V1 had teeth marks on her neck to support her claim. S1 was no longer in the area.

V1 did not require medical assistance. A pass-on affidavit was completed for DV strangulation and battery on a pregnant person.

D1 fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. D1 was later located and arrested and was transported to VCBJ.
