While conducting an Extra Patrol, an abandoned camper (FL tag CCAE13) was located parked in front of O'Reilly Auto Parts in Orange City. A dog was seen through the window, with feces present. Based on those findings, county ACO was contacted to come collect the dog. When deputies opened the door, which was unlocked, V1 was discovered at the entry way and was obviously deceased. No signs of trauma or foul play was observed, however, two empty bottles of sleeping pills were located near V1. On Call CID and ME were notified and responded. NOK was notified by CID. Case status: TOT CID.

V1 and D1 were engaged in a verbal argument inside the residence. V1 was sitting down in a chair when D1 approached him in an aggressive manner and proceeded to throw her lit cigarette at him, hitting his body. In a defensive response, V1 slapped D1. W1 was witness to this incident and corroborated V1's account. D1 stated she was punched in the face and grabbed by the next by V1, however her lack of injuries supported this claim. D1's charge was enhanced due to V1's age. CBA by Patrol

V1 and D1 are a father and son who live together as a family unit. During a verbal altercation, D1 suddenly charged at V1 in an aggressive manner, causing V1 to feel as though D1 was going to shove him down the stairs. V1 was afraid that D1 would push him and potentially injure him. Contact was made with D1, who was arrested and transported to VCBJ.
