V1 did not initially report the incident due to both being intoxicated but he had injuries consistent with his statement. D1 denied having any knowledge of the altercation being physical. D1 was arrested for simple battery. A DV lethality assessment was completed and V1 was advised of the potential lethal situation.

V1 and D1 are married and live together as a single-family unit.  D1 became increasingly intoxicated over the course of the day and started a disturbance with V1.  V1 attempted to keep D1 from drinking further; however, this upset D1 who jumped on V1 and started hitting him.  D1 admitted to the incident and was charged accordingly.

(Active Investigation)

An employee of V1 accidentally left her set of keys to the store on the counter of the photo area near the ATM at 1800 hours. Upon learning they were not on her person, she conducted a search of the store and were unable to find them. The employee reviewed the video surveillance and discovered S1 was the only individual in the area of the keys. After using the ATM, S1 is observed reaching for something on the counter where the keys were and then left the store on a teal beach cruiser style bicycle traveling southbound on Enterprise Rd. Management has been notified. Due to the timelapse in reporting, S1 was unable to be located. Case status: Active

V1 and D1 reside together as a family unit and share one child. V1 stated that during an intimate encounter, he confronted D1 regarding her calling him by her ex-boyfriend's name. V1 reported that D1 became upset and struck him in the mouth with a closed fist causing it to bleed. V1 stated that D1 then mounted him and struck him several additional times in the face. V1 declined medical attention on scene. A Domestic Violence Lethality Assessment was completed. D1 was taken into custody for domestic battery and transported to VCBJ.
