On 07-04-2026, during an argument inside the bedroom, the defendant (D1) armed himself with a screwdriver and then got on top of the victim (V1) while she was on the bed. D1 held the screwdriver in a manner that caused the victim to believe she was going to be stabbed, while he screamed that he was going to kill her. The victim was unable to get up, and D1 punched her in the face with a closed fist, causing a red, swollen contusion on the right side of her cheek and a laceration on the right side of her lip. The victim stated she was scared and did not initially want to report the incident to law enforcement. On 07-05-2026, the situation was brought to the attention of law enforcement, and photographs were taken documenting the injuries with date and timestamp. A deputy later spoke with the defendant, who admitted to hitting the victim in the face, stating it was because she was throwing items.

Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the victim, who stated she was kicked in the stomach approximately two to three times during a verbal argument with the defendant. The victim's adult son, Bryson, witnessed the incident while seated on the living room couch. Bryson yelled at the defendant to stop, at which point the defendant ceased the assault after Bryson intervened. The defendant admitted to kicking the victim, however; he advised it was to get her away from him.
