***ASSIST AGENCY REPORT / SFM / CBA***

T/L- 12/23/2025 @ 0630 hours.  A passerby observed smoke coming from 4611 South Ridgewood Avenue (which is an abandoned building).  Further investigation revealed that an unknown suspect had set something on fire on the concrete pad behind the structure.  While deputies were working this incident, another passerby said there was smoke coming from 101 Charles Street (which is .2 miles from 4611 South Ridgewood Avenue).  Deputies and Fire Rescue responded to this second location and observed smoke coming from a bucket that someone had left on the front porch of the abandoned residence (VSO 25-25963).  The State Fire Marshal was advised of the event and took jurisdiction.  On call CID also responded to aid the State Fire Marshal with their (SFM's) investigation.  D1 was identified and subsequently contacted by the SFM.  D1 admitted to setting the fires, saying he “wanted to see the boxes burn.”  D1 was arrested by the SFM and taken to VCBJ.
