D1/V1 and D2/V2 are in an ongoing continuous relationship and reside together as a family unit. D1 and D2 returned home from the bar and D2 began battering D1 during a heated argument. The incident was witnessed by D2's children on scene. During the investigation, D1 (who was highly intoxicated and belligerent), attempted to leave the scene. As Deputies went to secure D1, D1 began actively resisting. D1 was secured and escorted to a patrol vehicle, where he kicked and licked Deputy Walcutt (who was not injured). During the remainder of the investigation, it was determined D2 was the primary aggressor and subsequently arrested. DV lethality assessment completed. D1 and D2 were charged accordingly and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
