VSO assisted the City of South Daytona with an armed suspect barricaded inside of a residence. S1 fired his pistol at a neighbor after getting involved in a verbal argument. S1 then fled into his residence. Multiple agencies responded to the scene and established a perimeter. Due the close proximity to South Daytona Elementary VSO assisted with traffic control to get vehicle's away from the area. S1 was finally taken into custody by officers.

T/L- 02/11/2026 @ 1148 hours.  V1 advised that an unknown suspect had entered her (V1's) home (while she was sleeping), took her purse and a video surveillance camera.  While investigating this incident, deputies were advised of another possible residential burglary that had occurred at the neighboring residence.  V2 advised that power tools and other household items were taken (totaling over $750 dollars).  Even though the video surveillance camera had been taken during V1's burglary, they (V1) were still able to provide a still photo of the suspect.  Deputy Bionelli recognized the suspect, and they (now S1) were located at an LOI in Holly Hill.  Deputy Bionelli obtained a full confession from S1 (who obviously was now D1) and able to recover most of both victim's stolen property.
